Our autumn season of concerts at the Matthiesen Gallery gets under way on Monday 14 October with a recital by Samson Tsoy. Samson and his partner Pavel Kolesnikov are highly acclaimed as a duo, often performing in unexpected, unorthodox spaces – they are co-creators of the award-winning Ragged Music Festival held at the Ragged School Museum in Tower Hamlets. Here, Samson’s solo programme is far from unorthodox; it is a celebration of much-loved repertoire, ending with Beethoven’s last piano sonata, one of the most poetic works ever written for the piano.
