As in 2021 small scale grants were made to a number of charities with whom we have formal connections. Amongst these were Children with Cancer, the international Otter Survival Fund, English Touring Opera, St Mungos, La Nuova Musica, Listening Books, Guide Dogs, UNICEF Ukraine Appeal, Opera Holland Park Young Artists Program, Royal Academy of Music. A donation of £500 was made to English National Opera. A special payment of £1000 was made to support a Ukrainian student bursary at Oriel College Oxford.
After several years of delay and complications the harpsichord, which was promised to the National Gallery was rebuilt by Michael Parfet at a cost of £6,740.00. The instrument was donated to the National Gallery in September 2022 and the inaugural concert took place on the 6th of October 2022 with Maestro Mencoboni, who came from Italy sponsored by the Foundation to perform.
On the 20th of December 2022 the Imogen Cooper Foundation asked whether we would be able to store the Yamaha C1 Concert Grand piano at the gallery as the venue used by the foundation for regular concerts had been sold. After a couple of months of storage, the foundation was asked whether it would participate in hosting a series of monthly concerts for young musicians. These concerts are managed by Mary Orr. To date (July 2023) three concerts have been performed and a number more are in the pipeline.
